How it differs from other readers
Three decisions that change everything.
- 01
Your data stays with you
Feeds, saved articles and read markers live in your browser's storage (IndexedDB). We have no accounts, no passwords and no copy of your library.
- 02
Zero algorithm
You set the order: chronological, feed by feed. There is no "recommended for you" and no experiment running on your attention.
- 03
One honest server-side function
Browsers block direct feed requests (CORS), so we route them through our own stateless proxy. The server only ever sees the feed address you added yourself — and stores nothing.
Everything you need to read
No sugar-coating. Just the things that do real work every day.
Starter packs
8 ready-made packs: Tech PL, AI, Business, Developer, Polish News, Minimal and Łódź. One click and you have 3–7 feeds immediately — no hunting for RSS URLs.
A directory of 857 feeds
A curated set across 13 categories. Every feed is labelled with language and country, and can be added to the reader in one click.
Custom feeds and OPML
Paste an RSS or Atom URL, or import an OPML file from another reader. Export your whole list in one click — your data is never held hostage.
Compact and comfortable views
A dense list for scanning headlines or spacious cards for calm reading. Switch with one click and the choice sticks.
A reader with typography control
Article text in a serif chosen for long reading, adjustable text size, light and dark themes. Your settings stay on your device.
Search your own library
Search everything already downloaded and saved — locally and instantly. The query never leaves your browser, so it cannot be stored or sold.
How it works
- 01
Pick a pack
Start from a ready pack (Tech PL, AI, Business, Developer, Polish News, Minimal, Łódź) or from scratch.
- 02
Add feeds
Use the directory, paste your own RSS/Atom URL, or import an OPML file (a feed list) from another reader.
- 03
Read
The list loads in your browser and stays available offline. No account, no sync, no waiting.
A directory of 857 feeds
A curated set: technology, AI, programming, business, Poland, science, design, gaming, culture, sport, world and crypto. Every feed labelled with category, language and country.

Questions we get most often
Is Oatmeal Feed free?
Yes. The web reader is free with no limit on feeds or articles. There is no “Pro” tier gating the basics. The iOS app will have a free tier in the App Store.
Where are my feeds and articles stored?
On your device only — in your browser’s IndexedDB and localStorage. We keep no user accounts and no copy of your library. Clearing site data also clears the library, so export to OPML first if you plan to do that.
If the data is local, why is there a server?
Browsers block direct cross-origin RSS requests (CORS). Our stateless proxy fetches the feed server-side and returns it to your browser. The server only ever sees the feed address you added yourself, and stores nothing.
How is it different from Feedly, Inoreader or NetNewsWire?
We have no accounts and keep none of your data on a server — there is nothing to sync and nothing to leak. In exchange there is no cross-device sync: you move your library with an OPML file. The reader is also completely free and ad-free.
Can I import feeds from another reader?
Yes. We import standard OPML files from Feedly, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, Thunderbird and most other readers. Duplicates are skipped and nothing is overwritten. Export works the same way, in one click.

Oatmeal Feed vs a typical cloud reader
| Aspect | Oatmeal Feed | Cloud reader |
|---|---|---|
| Where your data lives | In your browser (IndexedDB) | On the vendor’s servers |
| Account | None exists | Required |
| Article order | Chronological, set by you | Often algorithmic “relevance” |
| Cost | Free | Usually a paid tier beyond a few feeds |
| Moving your data | One-click OPML export | Often locked to a paid plan |
| Tracking and ads | None | Depends on the vendor |
| Offline reading | Yes (PWA) | Usually not |
